FAQ Physiotherapy
Common questions.
Do I need a prescription?
In Germany, physiotherapy is typically covered by statutory health insurance (Gesetzliche Krankenversicherung) when you have a prescription (Heilmittelverordnung) from your physician. Private insurance (Private Krankenversicherung) may also cover sessions, often without a prescription. Self‑pay options are always available.
How does the first session work?
The first session (60 minutes) includes:
- Detailed assessment: Discussion of your medical history, current symptoms, and goals
- Movement analysis: Observation of functional patterns, joint mobility, and tissue tension
- Hands‑on examination: Palpation of relevant structures to identify primary dysfunctions
- Initial treatment: Gentle manual therapy and/or introductory exercises based on findings
- Home program: Clear instructions for self‑management until your next session
What should I bring?
- Prescription (if you have one)
- Medical reports, imaging results (MRI, X‑ray), surgery notes
- Comfortable clothing that allows movement (e.g., shorts, t‑shirt, sports bra)
- Any braces, orthotics, or assistive devices you regularly use
- A list of medications and known allergies
How many sessions will I need?
This depends on your condition, goals, and response to treatment. Acute injuries may require 4–6 sessions over 2–3 weeks, while chronic conditions often benefit from a longer‑term plan (e.g., 8–12 sessions over 2–3 months). We'll discuss a realistic timeline during your assessment and adjust as needed.
Do you offer home visits?
Yes, home visits are possible within Vienna for an additional fee, depending on availability. This is especially useful for post‑surgical patients or those with mobility limitations. Please inquire via the contact form.
What is your cancellation policy?
We request at least 24 hours notice for cancellations or rescheduling. Late cancellations (less than 24 hours) may be charged at 50% of the session fee, except in cases of emergency or acute illness.
Can I combine physiotherapy with personal training?
Absolutely. Many clients transition from physiotherapy to personal training once pain‑free movement is established, or do both concurrently with careful programming. We can coordinate a integrated plan that addresses both rehabilitation and strength goals.
