Physiotherapy

FAQ

Frequently asked questions about costs, prescriptions and appointments.

How much does a physiotherapy session cost and how long do the sessions last?

The costs for physiotherapy depend on your medical prescription. 40-100% of the partial costs will be reimbursed by your health insurance individually after submitting the invoice, the prescription, and your payment confirmation. The amount of reimbursement depends on your respective insurance provider. The duration of the sessions depends on the scope of the prescription, your individual needs and your goals.

What is a medical prescription?

Collaboration with physiotherapy for rehabilitation purposes always requires a medical prescription, which determines the scope of therapy. You receive this from your doctor.

How long is the prescription valid?

The first therapy session must take place within 1 month of the prescription being issued.

Do I need approval/authorization?

Approval is not required for ÖGK & BVAEB. However, approval is required for SVS & KFA.

What do I need to bring to my first therapy session?

For your first appointment, in addition to the medical prescription, you need all relevant medical reports and doctor's letters, as well as comfortable clothing that allows you to move freely. Please also bring a water bottle and a towel.

What should I do if I cannot attend an appointment?

If you cannot keep your scheduled appointment, please cancel as soon as possible by phone, SMS or email. If an appointment is not cancelled at least 24 hours in advance, the full session and thus the complete price will be charged.

How are follow-up appointments scheduled?

The next appointment is scheduled together at the end of each session, depending on your wishes, needs, goals and therapy progress.

How does the partial cost reimbursement work?

To get a partial reimbursement of the incurred costs, you need the medical prescription, the invoices for the completed sessions, and a payment confirmation. You can submit these documents online at www.meineSV.at or by mail directly to your health insurance. For more detailed information, please contact your health insurance provider.
